Sunnyvale, California, the 7th most populous city in the Bay Area, is bordered by San Jose, Mountain View, Los Altos, and Santa Clara. Sunnyvale lies in the Silicon Valley area of the San Francisco Bay Area. Sunnyvale is a more affordable area than its neighboring Silicon Valley communities. It’s one of the few cities that has a single unified Department of Public Safety, where all personnel are trained as firefighters, police officers, and EMT’s which allows them to respond to an emergency in any of those three roles. Sunnyvale residents enjoy close commutes to various high tech companies such as Apple, Google, Yahoo, and LinkedIn.

 

The homes in Sunnyvale mainly consist of modern single family homes, mid century ranch homes, luxury apartments and condominiums. The historic Downtown area of Sunnyvale includes a variety of fun establishments to drink, eat, and shop. Murphy Avenue is in the center of Downtown and has many events including a Weekly Farmers Market held every Saturday all year long.

 

Sunnyvale’s local schools include Cumberland and Cherry Chase Elementary, Sunnyvale Middle School and Homestead High School.
