Los Altos, is located in Silicon Valley in the South Peninsula. Evolving from an agricultural town filled with apricot orchards and summer cottages to a modern high tech mecca, Los Altos has maintained it’s small town atmosphere despite its location in the heart of Silicon Valley. In the Downtown area of Los Altos, one can find many vibrant shops and restaurants. Stop by “State of Mind Pizza” a local pizzeria which won the World Pizza Championship, or go for a pleasant stroll through Shoup Park.
Los Altos is an extremely family friendly community where they have many local events that are fun for the whole family. Annually, the Los Altos Festival of Lights Parade makes its way down Main Street signifying the beginning of the holiday season. There is also a family favorite “Pet Parade” in the spring as well as a weekly farmer’s market during the summer months. Early July brings the Los Altos Arts & Wine Festival where people come from all over the Bay Area to enjoy, live music, artisan wines and breathtaking artwork.
Los Altos is surrounded by Los Altos Hills, Palo Alto, Mountain View, Sunnyvale, and Cupertino. The public schools in the area include Covington, Oak Avenue, Santa Rita, Almond, Loyola and Springer Elementary Schools, Egan and Blach Middle Schools, and Los Altos High School.
